Enough said!

Assalamu Alaykum,

I tend to browse through islamic forums on the web and I came across a topic being discussed that left me rather flabbergasted.

Someone posted 2 youtube videos in which it said that if you listen to songs backwards you find that most songs have an evil subliminal message in them.

Now.. I had to scratch my head really hard to understand why we need to play things backwards to demonstrate that these songs are evil.. Just play them forward!

Most songs nowadays have some sort of haram element in them.. Even the most innocent of songs (those not glorifying drugs, zinna, murder, loose manners etc) are still about things that go against islam.

I wont talk about the issue of music in itself being haraam (although a very important topic).. But I want to talk about the filthy lyrical content of most (if not all) of todays songs.

Most brothers and sisters would not dare commit zinna, drink alcohol or stoop to the low levels being glorified in most popular songs. Then how does it become ok to listen to people sing about it?

How can a muslim who fears Allah, sit down and enjoy people singing about how they are committing KABA’IR.. not minor sins.. MAJOR ones?! Doesnt make sense does it?

How can we listen to people singing:

I kissed a girl and I liked it! — Kate Perry

Don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?– The Pussycat dolls

You, your sex is on fire— Kings of Leon.

I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked — Ida Maria

I could go on, but I feel bad enough typing such filthy words on my blog.. Enough said!

May Allah keep us steadfast and may we only do what is pleasing to Him, Ameen.
